Group Sustainability: Responsibility as Our Foundation

Goals and Measures:

  • CO₂ Reduction: Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 65% by 2030, 88% by 2040, and CO₂ neutrality by 2045. In 2024, the SOMMER Group prepared its first company-wide CO₂ balance for Scope 1 (direct emissions from gas, fleet, process heat) and Scope 2 (indirect emissions from electricity consumption), based on the GHG Protocol Standards.
  • The 855 kWp solar power system saves approximately 262 tons of CO₂ per year compared to the German electricity mix — equivalent to the annual carbon absorption of around 26,240 trees.
  • Energy Management: Implementation of an ISO 50001-certified systemfor systematic monitoring and analysis of energy consumption. Photovoltaic systems with a total capacity of 855 kWp have been installed.
  • Resource Conservation: A 855 kWp solar system, and a recycling rate of 75%. Annual CO₂ savings: approximately 475 tons. New measures include optimizing packaging to increase the proportion of recycled materials and reduce plastic, as well as raising the recycling rate of aluminum components.
  • Quality Management: An ISO 9001-certified systemensures continuous process optimization and the highest quality standards.

Environmental Innovation:

  • Investments in resource-efficient technologies, such as replacing lighting with LEDs, expanding e-mobility through charging stations and electrifying the vehicle fleet, as well as implementing energy-efficient production processes.

Economic Stability:

  • Sustainability as the foundation for long-term success through transparent practices and responsible risk management.

Social Responsibility:

  • Promotion of health programs, professional development, and community projects.
